Date: 27 October 2025
Venue: Bangi Resort Hotel, Selangor
On 27 October 2025, representatives from AnsarComp attended an awareness session organized by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP / PERHILITAN) at Bangi Resort Hotel, Selangor. The session aimed to enhance understanding and compliance among stakeholders involved in wildlife trade activities — including importers, exporters, brand owners, and regulatory consultants.
Key Topics Covered
The session provided an in-depth explanation of the guidelines and legal framework governing wildlife-related trade under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 (Act 716) and the International Trade in Endangered Species Act 2008 (Act 686).
Participants were guided through critical aspects of compliance such as:
✅ Proper handling and application of wildlife-related legislation in Peninsular Malaysia.
✅ Management of wildlife specimens and maintenance of logbook records as part of ongoing documentation procedures.
✅ Preparation and submission of documentation required for import and re-export permit applications involving wildlife species.
This comprehensive session emphasized the importance of accurate documentation and transparent record-keeping to ensure all international trade activities involving wildlife specimens comply with national and international regulations, including CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).
Introduction of MyCITES & MyPerhilitan Systems
One of the main highlights of the event was the introduction of two new digital systems — MyCITES and MyPerhilitan, developed and managed by DWNP. These platforms are designed to enhance efficiency, transparency, and traceability in managing wildlife trade permits and dealer licenses.
During the session, DWNP officers presented an overview of how MyCITES integrates with the existing MyPerhilitan system, providing a centralized, paperless platform for permit management.
🟢 MyCITES – will be used for CITES import, export, and re-export permit applications.
🟢 MyPerhilitan – will handle new and renewal applications for wildlife dealers and special permits.
Implementation Timeline
The official implementation date for both MyCITES and MyPerhilitan systems has been scheduled for 1 January 2026.
