What is Approved Permit (AP)?
Approved Permit (AP) is an import and export license issued by the Permit Issuing Agencies (PIAs) under the Customs Act 1967.
Which products are subject to AP under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI)?
1. VEHICLE
All Motor vehicles and Motorcycles (including commercial vehicles) imported as Completely Built-Up (CBU) and Completely Knocked-Down (CKD).
2. OTHER PRODUCTS
Import – Batik, used brake(s) and servo brake(s), reusable motor vehicle and motorcycle batteries. Export – Waste Paper.
3. IRON & STEEL
- Import of Iron and Steel Products under HS Code Subheading – 7208, 7209, 7210, 7211, 7212, 7225, 7227, 7303, 7304, 7305, 7306 and 7614.
- Export of Iron and Steel Products under HS Code Subheading – 7204, 7404, 7503, 7602, 7802 and 7902.
4. CWC CHEMICALS
Import of Toxic chemicals and their precursors covered under the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction 1993 (CWC).
5. HEAVY MACHINERY
Import of Heavy Machineries under HS Code Subheading 8426, 8701, 8704 and 8705.
