The Fire Blankets is a very efficient and strong blanket, specially designed to control and isolate car fires for All-Electric Vehicles (EVs). Due to depriving the oxygen inlet, the blanket reduces smoke and toxic fumes, creating an enclosed space that aerosol units need to effectively kick down the flames.
Most Electric vehicles contain a lithium-ion battery (or similar). While lithium-ion batteries offer numerous benefits, such as high energy density and long cycle life, they also pose certain fire risks.
This is why you need more than just water. Fire Blankets will help isolate and control the fire and prevent collateral damage to the surroundings.
Furthermore, SIRIM is actively working on the development of safety standards for fire blankets in the industry. The launch of the certification and testing of fire blankets for EVs marks a significant milestone in the safety of the EV industry. By prioritizing safety measures and establishing rigorous standards, the government aims to foster trust among EV users and promote sustainable and safe transportation options for everyone.
