Starting 6 May 2025, all Malaysian exporters sending goods to the United States must follow new rules for export documentation!
✅ What’s New?
The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) is now the ONLY official body that can issue Non-Preferential Certificates of Origin (NPCO) for exports to the U.S.
❌ This means:
All previous authorising bodies – such as chambers of commerce, business councils, and trade associations – are no longer allowed to process NPCO applications for U.S.-bound shipments.
📌 What You Must Do:
Submit NPCO applications directly to MITI – at their HQ.
Follow the new MITI guidelines strictly to avoid shipment delays or export issues.
🧐 Why This Matters:
The NPCO is a key document proving your product’s country of origin. Any error or delay in obtaining it could affect your delivery schedule, customs clearance, or even client trust. So don’t take it lightly!
