AnsarComp was pleased to participate in the recent MCMC New Communications Equipment Framework (NCEF) Engagement, gaining valuable insights into the upcoming changes to Malaysia’s communications equipment regulatory framework.
The New Communications Equipment Framework (NCEF) is being introduced by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to modernise the registration and regulatory process for communications equipment in Malaysia.
Under NCEF, communications equipment will be classified into three risk-based categories:
- Scheme A – High-Risk Equipment
- Scheme B – Medium-Risk Equipment
- Scheme C – Low-Risk Equipment
The applicable registration and conformity requirements will depend on the product category and level of regulatory risk.
Based on the information shared during the engagement session, the implementation of NCEF is currently planned for the second quarter of 2027.
For importers, suppliers and manufacturers, this transition highlights the importance of understanding product classification, technical documentation and registration requirements before placing communications equipment in the Malaysian market.
At AnsarComp, we continue to stay updated on regulatory developments to better guide our clients through Malaysia’s evolving compliance landscape.
Prepare early. Stay compliant. Enter the Malaysian market with confidence.
