On February 2, 2022, an enforcement inspection was conducted at premises around the Kuala Lumpur area. Through this inspection, the Department of Wildlife and National Parks of Peninsular Malaysia PERHILITAN confiscated suspected deer heads, Malayan tiger skin, and bear skin that had been stored without storage documentation from the Department of WILDLIFE.
A police report has been lodged in connection with the seizure and all the goods have been brought to the Department of Wildlife of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur for further investigation and actions. The case will be investigated under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 [Act 716].
