Electrical appliances are a necessity in every home. Appliances such as fans, lights, and air conditioners are among the most basic electrical appliances that can easily be found in every house or unit.
Do you agree? But…
Did you know that there are eight (8) appliances that require the Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) and an Energy Efficiency Label? And why do you think it demands such a label?
Let us tell you why…
The Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) is made mandatory by the government to ensure that general performance and user satisfaction are not adversely affected by increasing energy efficiency.
As well as to specify the minimum level of energy performance that appliances, lighting, and electrical equipment (products) must meet or exceed before they can be offered for sale or used for commercial purposes.
To meet the requirements of the Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) the performance criteria that are tested using the relevant testing standards must be met.
The mechanism of approval is through the issuance of the Certificate of Approval (COA) issued by the Energy Commission.
If you intend to sell any of these household appliances, make sure every piece of equipment has a Minimum Energy Performance (MEPS) and an Energy Efficiency Label before it can be sold on the market.
